This is the morning comedown experience.
Wishing you were here; I need you here for the crash.
BANG! Spiraling down. Not like a dogfight, but slow. Drifting lower, drifting closer to the place where you once slept.
I dreamed I was a stunt pilot. I flew home.
You were nowhere to be found.
I woke up.
You were nowhere to be found.
Birds flutter outside the window; I miss all of them.
And you... You I miss the most.
One day, you came back;
I cried. You just had that far-away look in your eyes.
You were not the same anymore. You were so very broken.
I asked you to leave; you wanted to be mine again.
I turned away.

You were nowhere to be found.
Where are you?

Such a great piece and relate-able I really enjoyed it! You did a great job of packing in a sh*t ton of emotions and the back and forth of it all in a short piece! Thanks for your words!
